Since its creation, the Company has concentrated on the superior taste of its products. We have “added” to our honey all the know-how of the founders of the Company in terms of quality Greek honey and the singular taste of the honey of each region. The result is the unique flavour of our products which has made them a favourite in Greece and overseas.
The original flavour of Attiki Honey, which constitutes a milestone in terms of the flavour of honey and which generations of Greek and foreign consumers have fallen in love with, is the result of a singular ritual followed daily by a group of tasters selected by ATTIKI. A valuable custom inherited from the founders of ATTIKI and adopted by the current generation. This special group of tasters evaluates the honey so that only the premium varieties that have already passed the strict organoleptic examination are used in the final product. The quality, taste, colour, liquidity and clarity of the honey are examined. The quality of the honey is tested before being purchased from the beekeepers, during the selection process, and again, during packaging. Following the organoleptic examination, a special group of tasters classifies the honey according to its type. By means of a rigorous and seasoned (thanks to decades of work) selection process of top-notch honey products from all of Greece, based on their organoleptic characteristics, the renowned taste and aroma of Attiki honey is achieved.
The taste of our honey has been lauded over the years with some of the most important taste awards, the most recent being from the iTQi which awarded our products with the highest honour imaginable. Attiki honey received a three stars award in 2008 and 2011, whilst Fino honey received a two stars award in 2009.
